Celebrating Birds of Paradise with a FREE READ

Birds of Paradise, the hilariously moving 1987 Off-Broadway musical about a small-town community theater presenting a musicalized version of Anton Chekov's The Seagull recently received a concert-revival at NYC's famed supper-club, Feinstein's/54 Below. The celebrated concert was sung by former cast members of Broadway's mega-hit Wicked, whose Tony-nominated librettist, Winnie Holzman, also co-wrote the hilarious book and lyrics for Birds of Paradise.

Both Winnie Holzman and the musical's composer and co-book writer, David Evans, were in attendance for the event - celebrating a show whose original 1987 production was directed by the legendary Arthur Laurents (West Side Story).

Critics and audiences lauded the event, as Theater Pizzazz wrote: "..this performance proved that its quirky charm really withstands the test of time." (Read the full review here.) The cast of Broadway favorites included Nancy Opel, Alli Mauzey, Bonnie Milligan, and Alex Wyse.
